Farewell to my Tiger

I sold my Tiger 800 today.

My first experience with motorcycling, back in 2017, was love at first sight. It was a hobby I independently decided to pursue, not because anyone recommended it to me. I definitely did not have any friends who rode—working in the Emergency Department, all signs pointed to the fact that motorcycling is dangerous and only fools engage in it.

I don’t necessarily disagree with those facts. However, riding motorcycles has become a significant part of who I am today. It has expanded my world in more ways than one. From an obvious perspective, it’s much more fun to navigate San Francisco when you can avoid traffic (splitting) and not worry about parking. I also joined a motorcycle meetup group, started going on group rides, and met wonderful friends through this group. I have taken friends as pillion riders and shown them around my hometown. I even embarked on an unforgettable ride up Highway 1 to Portland, OR.

All in all, I have been riding consistently for about five years now, four of which were spent with this Tiger. I have made countless memories while motorcycling but especially in that seat. I learned how to maintain and upgrade the bike, including my first-ever experience working with motorcycle wiring.

I’ll miss this bike! But I’m excited to upgrade to a new model within the same line. More details on the new bike coming soon...
